The Facts

Do you know what Redbridge Council wants to do with Gants Hill Library and the Car Park?

The Library will be demolished

According to the council, the Car Park is “under utilised” and so they will replace it with..…...

……….a huge development with 100 residential flats and a Community Hub!

The Impact

What impact will this development have on ME and MY FAMILY?

  • High rise flats will set a new precedent for the future development of Gants Hill (see Ilford!)

  • Block light and encroach on the privacy of residents, especially for those on Martley, Parham, Headley and Otley Drives

  • Removal of Car Park will increase parking problems on residential side streets

  • Road traffic will increase and place extra demand on over-utilised public transport

  • More residents will mean more strain on local services, schools, GPs, dentists & policing

  • Reduced parking will mean loss of custom for local businesses

  • Anti-social behaviour will increase around Gants Hill and the station as the concentration of residents increases; especially at a time when Police resources are over-stretched

  • Increased noise, litter and general pollution around Gants Hill

  • Overall reduction in quality of life for all those who live & have invested in Gants Hill
